Kathryn J. Spearman

Assistant Professor, Pennsylvania State University, Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing and Faculty, Child Maltreatment Solutions Network

Dr. Spearman’s research focuses on the intersection of child maltreatment and intimate partner violence. Her work examines how experiences of abuse and coercion - and legal system responses to these experiences - impact social determinants of health. Dr. Spearman uses mixed-method study designs to center survivor perspectives and needs, and translate these findings into actionable policy change and interventions that promote health, safety, and well-being of children and their protective parents.
